SEE contests celebrate IP Institute’s 10 years of history

Participants will be challenged to turn 3,650 days of history into just a few lines of text

The IP Institute is celebrating. To commemorate a decade of actions for a more sustainable world, the Institute has brought a bit of its history to the Social and Environmental Education (SEE) Project contests. And the participants in the 42nd edition of the Essay Contest and the 12th Literary Contest will continue to write it.

The Social and Environmental Education Project is already a tradition in Mogi Guaçu (SP). Since 1975, 5th grade students and high school freshmen and seniors have taken part in the essay contest.

Essay Contest – Over more than four decades, participants have discussed the most varied themes. Healthy eating, caring for soil and other themes related to sustainability and the environment have already been covered.

This year, students will be challenged to write an essay based on the history of the IP Institute and its motto: “Transforming people’s lives is our role.” In addition to working with environmental education at schools on projects such as Guardians of the Water, Nature and Body and the Environmental Education Project (EEP), the organization also collaborates to educate adolescents professionally through the Formare School Project, active since 2010. In 2017 alone, hundreds of young people were trained in the cities of Mogi Guaçu (SP), Luiz Antônio (SP) and Três Lagoas (MS).

Literary Contest – Since 2005, the city of Mogi Guaçu has held the Literary Contest within the SEE, geared exclusively towards educators and encompassing teachers and school administration teams. In its 12th edition, the Literary Contest is an example of the growth of the SEE in the academic community of Mogi Guaçu. It is also a chance to recognize the work of those who strive to build knowledge in the classroom every day.

Workshops – To foster the participation of the entire community of Mogi Guaçu, the IP Institute holds a series of teacher workshops during the year. This gives teachers the tools to practice writing in class, aimed at enhancing students’ writing skills and encouraging them to participate in the contest. Workshops also pose ideas so that teachers develop different transversal content, combining it with the pragmatic content already on the curriculum.

Awards – On September 29, the Institute will hold an awards ceremony for the SEE winners, and the party will celebrate these 10 years of history!
